I have fake nails, like acrylic and how do you get them off other than soaking them in acetone?

my nails look horrible. and they keep breaking and i don't want to go to the nail salon because its $10 to get them taken off and i don't have any money to get a re-baseI have fake nails, like acrylic and how do you get them off other than soaking them in acetone?

No, I really hate to tell you this you can either soak them off and you can buy acetone in the hardware store or just keep using a fine emery board and keep them as smooth as possible then they will start to lift.
The other way is to clip them down and then peel them off. I'm in the same boat as you right now so I'm slowly working on a couple nails a day. It hurts but its cheaper. When I can afford to have them removed, the guy takes a fake nail and shoves it under my fake nail and riiiipppssss it off. I'm a lot gentler and I don't like paying for all the pain. The real nails will look awful for a while it takes time for them to grow out and look normal again. Good luck!!
You can pry them off but it hurts!! Wait for them to grow out a little and then pry them off
