Hi can anyone advise me how to get gel/acrylic nails off?

Soak half a cotton wool ball in pure acetone, place on fingernail and wrap your fingertip in kitchen foil. Do this to all 5 nails on one. The foil heats up the acetone which speeds up the process a little and also stops the acetone evaporating which it does pretty quickly.

After 5-10 minutes take a finger out of its foil pod and buff any softened product off, replace in its pod and move onto next nail etc. Your cotton wool may need a top up of acetone along the way. Once you get down to a thin layer is should peel off pretty easy. . DONT pick it off if there is any resistance you will be picking off layers of your own nail and that is very damaging. Use a cuticle oil and/or handcream after to treat your fingers and nails and to replace some of the moisture the acetone has removed.Hi can anyone advise me how to get gel/acrylic nails off?
You could try acetone - you need to get it from a pharmacy and you want pure acetone, not just acetone nail polish remover.

I would NOT recommend it however. I used it once on my nail technicians advice and just did not have the patience to sit there for over three hours with my fingers freezing in a bowl of acetone. Go back to where you had the nails done and get them to do it professionally. Your nails will look a complete mess otherwise and you will have to wait for the whole nail to grow out before they are anything like decent again.Hi can anyone advise me how to get gel/acrylic nails off?
Well gel nails are very different than acrylics so it depends on which ones you have. if its just a gel top coat then they're still acrylics. To get acrylic nails off the best way is to soak them off with acetone. If you take them off yourself you'll end up peeling layers of your nail off, making them soft and sensitive. If you have gel nails the only way to get them off is by an electric file. And that you would have to go back to the place you got them done at.
DO NOT let some lazy nail tech peal those nails off. It is completely unnecessary, painful and LAZY.

I've never had gel nails. But when I've had my acrylic nails removed for a new set (it's just necessary sometimes) I've had them soaked off in acetone. It's a long process but you soak them and sand them down with the dremel tool and then soak them some more. It's MUCH gentler on your nails.
don't pull them off for starters and go to the salon where you had them done they will have a chemical like acetone that will soak them off or when will use an electronic tool to sand of the acrylic or gel but these can be nasty if they're left on the nail one second too long they can cause a ring of fire which is painful and permanently damages the nail and nail bed often ';chinese'; nail salons will use the electric sanding method
Use 100% Acetone nail polish remover. It will eat away the acrylic, and not harm your fingers. Its what the salons use when they take them off. Just soak a cotton ball in it, and rub, or let your nails soak in them. clip them down, and gently peal them off as they soften.
I bought a pot of something out of Superdrug... it had a kind of hole in the top where you put your finger in and soaked the nail, then turned it around and the nail popped off. I had to buff off the remainder of the glue etc..... I'll never have false nails again, they ruined my real ones!!!!

I can't remember the name of the pot, but it was pink, if that helps!!!
go get them off where you got them put on they have chemicals that you put your fingers in and it sits and they peel off after they been in thier for a little while .

otherwise im not sure riping them off would be such a good idea . Mabey thier is something you could buy at the store but im not sure .
if you had them done at a salon go back and ask them to remove them they should do this free of charge.otherwise soak your finger nails in nail polish remover they will loosen in a few minuits.be carefull not to yank them as this can be very damaging and painfull.

GEL NAILS HAVE TO BE BUFFED/FILED OFF

ACRYLIC HAVE TO BE SOAKED OFF WITH ACETONE

PLEASE DONT REMOVE THEM ON YOUR OWN SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP YOU WILL DAMAGE YOUR NAILS
Dont pull or rip them of its really bad for your natuaral nails!,

You just have to wait for them to come of atuarally im afraid - try ruing them under hot water - (might hurt abit so i wudn recoomend it)
Go back to the place you got them and you soak your fingers in this stuff and they come right off. Once I tried to just rip them off and ended up in the ER.....not fun. Trust me on that.
Sit your fingers in acetone. That will take em off. It's what they use at the salons.
