i am about to do a nail course and i have been told to find 5 negative things about acrylic nails can anyone help please xWhat are 5 negative reasons about acrylic nails?
1. Not hypo-allergenic
2. Strong smell from monomer that might bother the client
3. Larger gap when product grows out (compared to gels)
4. Won't stay shiny
5. Not very natural looking
Everyone always says that artificial nails will destroy real nails. It's not the product, just the technician!
I could go on, as I'm not an acrylic fan. All of clients use gel, and I'm so glad! Love gels! What are 5 negative reasons about acrylic nails?
1. Often when you get acrylic nails your natural nail is filed down. After months, years or even weeks of acrylic nail application, your original nails will become weak.
2. Many women try to take off their acrylic nails independently, which can completely damage the nail bed. Always have a professional do this.
3. When acrylics are put on to correct a problem, such as nail biting, it doesn鈥檛 always solve the problem and can damage already worn nails significantly.
4. If you use them a long time they can cause nails to be discolored (see explanation above)
5. Any fake nail that is longer than your natural nail can be hard to get used to (zipping pants and using your computer are excellent examples).
6. As they grow out it is noticeable that they are fake and you have to either go get them filled in (maintenance) or remove them.
To get you started:
1) They prevent oxygen from reaching the nails, so after prolonged usage, they can cause nails to be discoloured.
2) Since they are not the persons real nail, sometimes it may be hard to pick things up etc as well as a person should.
3) When applying them, the fumes from the glue are toxic.
Hmmm I would say
1. The odor that comes from the monomer is very strong so if you're not in a well ventilated room, it can make you sick.
2. It takes a pretty long time to soak it off with acetone.
3. They tend to yellow pretty quickly
4. They're not flexible, so they could lift easily for people with soft nails.
5. They require filing and produce a lot of dust.
Those are my reasons for not using acrylic. I only work with gel!
like the fake nails?
well if you put too much glue, like a little girl putting on fake nails for the first time, they might stick on for a long time, and when you finally take them off, your nails gone.
that's what happened to my friend, except she's not a little girl.
:D
i hope that helped.
They ruin your natural nails, food and stuff can get stuck under the tips, if you bump something hard w/your nail, it'll probably tear off your real nail, they make you look fake ... Hope this helps!! =)
Mine?
