Help please!!!! my acrylic nail was bent back with half of my real nail?

OOOCCCHHHH!!!!! Last night my moms dog (he is a big red nose pit very sweet but gets too excited) was excited to see me and jumped up to greet me but in the process my acrylic nail got bent back along with my real nail it bled bad and then i bumped later and it bled again it hurts bad my finger is swollen and very sore and i can wiggle my acrylic fingernail and my own nail moves too

Should i get it taken off at the nail salon or the hospital??Help please!!!! my acrylic nail was bent back with half of my real nail?
DO NOT soak your nails with a cotton ball and foil in this case! It would take at least 30 minutes to remove the nail that way and it will KILL getting the acetone on your nail bed.

Wrap your nail securely with a waterproof band aid and get some neosporin on there to prevent any infection. Give the trauma a chance to healHelp please!!!! my acrylic nail was bent back with half of my real nail?
they are heaps bad for your nails.

just cut the bit that is bent back off. make sure you get some ice for the swelling and antiseptic.

on and to stop it bleeding hold your arm up in the air and put pressure on it.
i would say the hospital would be your best bet, the people at the nail salon would give you sub par treatment.

I hope this helps!
First and foremost....soak it in ice water.

Don't go to the hospital; they can do it at the salon.
I would go to the hospital. The salon may end up doing more damage to it. Hope you get it sorted :)
ummm oww

the same thing happened to me

i suggest you go to the clinic if u are sure ur nail is caught with it
lkjjlkjlk;
It's really no different than ripping off your natural nail alone - however, I can see how getting the acrylic off would shorten the nail and thus lessen the amount the pain you feel.

The only actual danger is that the nail could become infected, which if you are otherwise healthy shouldn't be a problem if you keep some Neosporin or peroxide or whatever you have for cuts on it.

You could technically remove the nail yourself, although it will probably hurt. Soak a cotton ball in acetone, lay it on top of the nail, and then wrap the finger in aluminum foil. Of course, as some of this acetone hits the sore, it's going to burn, but apart from that it's harmless.

Refesh the cotton ball every 15 minutes until the acrylic nail is completely dissolved. You could also get the nail salon to do it for you.

A ripped nail is no different than a scrape wound from falling off of a bike or a cut - and it rarely requires medical attention. Just make sure to keep it clean and disinfected and other than that you'll just have to grin and bear the pain...

Good luck :)
